Cole Mitchell Sprouse is an American actor. He is famously known for his role in Disney Channel’s “The Suite Life of Zack and Cody” (2005-2008) as Cody Martin alongside his twin brother Dylan Sprouse who played Zack Martin. The show was about the life of two identical twins living at Tipton Hotel with her single mother, a lounge singer at the hotel. The show was a huge hit and was quite popular among children, teenagers, and even adults.
In recent years Cole appeared in a famous drama series, “Riverdale,” where he plays the role of Jughead Jones and has gained quite a popularity among teens.
Early life
Cole was born on 4 August 1994 to Matthew Sprouse and Melanie Wright in Arezzo, Italy. He has a twin brother, Dylan Sprouse, who was born 15 minutes before him. The family moved back to their parents’ native place, Long Beach, California, when the twins were 4 months old.
Cole started his career even before starting school; yes, you heard that right, he started appearing in several TV commercials and shows as one’s baby or child when he was only 8 months old. It was their maternal grandmother Jonine Booth Wright who convinced cole’s parents to let their sons try acting. She herself was an actress and a Drama teacher. Cole’s early roles were mostly shared with his brother Dyllan. Due to child labor laws in California, the amount of time children can be filmed in a day was restricted, and casting twins in a single role allowed more time for one character to be filmed.
In June 2010, Cole graduated from ‘Laurel Springs High School.’ And in 2011, he enrolled at New York University’s ‘Gallatin School’ and developed an interest in archaeology and humanities.
Career
After working for several commercials and shows in baby roles, Cole, along with his brother, got his first break in the sitcom “Grace Under Fire” as Patrick Kelly. Soon after that, he begged the role of Jullian in Adam Sandler’s box office hit, “Big Daddy” (2000), and young Pistachio Disguisey in 2002’s “The Master of Disguise.” That same month, their second feature film, The Astronaut’s Wife (1999), starring Johnny Depp and Charlize Theron, was also released. Then, in 2001, the artist appeared in one of the best sitcoms of all time, “FRIENDS,” as Ross Geller’s son Ben; this was the first role that he did not share with his brother.
In 2004 Cole was seen acting in an independent movie titled ‘The Heart is Deceitful Above All Things.’ The movie grossed $29,000 domestically, and Cole received acclamation for his outstanding performance in the movie.
As the twins grew older, they started taking more roles as separate characters and worked on the same projects as well. “MADtv” was the first project where the twins worked as individual characters but together, and following it, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, which aired on TV from 2005 to 2008, and then its sequel The Suite on Deck, which aired from 2008 to 2011. After wrapping his sixth year of The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, Cole chose to attend NYU and remain absent from entertainment until he finished his college education in 2015, graduating with honors. Initially, he was interested in studying film and television production but later developed an interest in Archeology and Humanities.
He also focused more on his love for photography and worked as a professional photographer.
The graduate soon booked the role of Jughead on Riverdale (2017), becoming a fan favorite, and then starred as Will Newman in the box office hit Five Feet Apart (2019).

The actor has been nominated for over 20 awards in his career to date and has won many of them. He was mostly nominated for his performances in Big Daddy, The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, Riverdale, and Five Feet Apart.
He won Choice Drama TV Award (Teen Choice Award) thrice and Male TV Star of the Year (Peoples Choice award) twice for Riverdale and several other awards for the same series. He also won Drama Movie Star of the Year for Five Feet apart.
