The Intelligent Patriotic Group has trained artisans in the municipality of West Tema for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) manifesto, while intensifying its campaign to win the support of the ruling party.

It took place in the framework of a public forum in thematic municipality 5, entitled Understanding the Nuclear Power Plant Manifesto : How can I be useful as a professional?

Joseph Gyamfi Yeboa, president of the Organisation of Intellectual Patriots, explained in his speech that election programmes play a crucial role in the parties’ vision of democracy and in their detailed policies and programmes.

He pointed out that craftsmen have special needs that need to be adequately addressed in vocational training, and added that the party manifesto contains provisions enabling these groups of workers to use the national cake directly.

Referring to the NPP Manifesto 2020, he noted that the government has achieved significant results through the National Programme for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (NEPI), which was set up to channel resources and support to young entrepreneurs, including training 19,000 entrepreneurs and young business people in modern business practices.

He said that in line with the National Entrepreneurship Policy, developed to deepen the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Ghana, the government has funded 4,350 young entrepreneurs and start-ups from GHS 10,000 to GHS 100,000 to help them expand their businesses.

About 40 innovative young entrepreneurs between the ages of 18 and 25 have received funding to implement their business idea in the presidential zone, he said, and 850 disabled female entrepreneurs have received $2 million in funding. The PSZ wants to expand its activities.

One thousand male entrepreneurs with disabilities receive 2 million GH¢ to develop their business.

According to him, these important achievements are unknown to many, especially to those who would otherwise benefit directly from these policies and programmes, and therefore they are being misled by the opposition to give the impression that the ruling party seems to have neglected them, which is not true.

Mr Yeboa said that as an advocate of the values of accountability and good governance, he should communicate the party’s programme to the people through training, seminars and workshops.

He said the stimulus programme will be replicated in Greater Accra’s Tema East, Tema Central and Corley Cloth districts, adding that the advocacy group is raising funds from selected agencies to provide loans to artisans to help them develop their businesses.

Nana Yao Opoku Danso, a leading member of the Intellectual Patriots, who is also a member of the Imperial Constituency Assembly, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the Western theme district is ready to keep the PNA in power with a streamlined campaign describing the party’s performance over the past four years.

Given the remarkable progress the party has made so far, it is clear that voters will judge the work of the president after seeing him on 7 March with an overwhelming majority.
