If you haven’t seen Mindhunter on Netflix, you’ve missed one of the best TV shows of the last decade, not to mention one of the coldest performances on TV by Cameron Britton.

In fact, Cameron Britton played the role of serial killer Ed Kemper in the film Mind Hunter, which adorned the screens with the disturbing image of a man who would live in shame as the killer’s accomplice.

Britton meticulously performed his magnum opus as Ed Kemper, which is reflected in his stolen performances on stage. But Britton did a lot more than that.

A 33-year-old Californian worked one day to drill an industrial ceiling with his perfect performance Mindhunter. Since then, the name Cameron Britton has been synonymous with perfection. After the announcement of the third season of the Bounty Hunter, waiting for Britton’s cameo may never have been as long as today.

Before the popular series ends at the end of the year, we’re going to count seven facts about Cameron Britton.

7. Cameron Britton played Ed Kemper’s serial killer on Mind Hunter

Perhaps it is his only role that has been talked about for years (and not in vain), Britton portrayed the infamous serial killer Ed Kemper in Mindhunter.

Ed Kemper goes by the alias Assistant Murderer. His gentle posture, eloquence and high IQ refute his predatory character. He stabbed ten people in his life, including his grandparents and his mother.

Cameron Britton was honoured for his depiction of this complex and crazy character. In every scene in which he participated, he stole the spotlight from his fellow soldiers.

Among the outstanding performances of protagonist Jonathan Groff, Holt McCallani and Anna Torv, Cameron stands out the most.

No wonder Britton was invited to rehearse her role in season two. Even in the season when there were cases such as the cult murders of Charles Manson and the Atlanta child murders, Britton was able to remain a brilliant event.

It remains to be seen if it comes out in the third season, but the fans are optimistic that we can still enjoy some of the best performances in the history of television.

6. He was almost too small to play Ed Kemper.

It is almost unthinkable that anyone other than Britton could have played the role of Kemper, which is why his performance was fascinating.

But host David Fincher almost betrayed Cameron to play the infamous serial killer. The reason is not a disagreement or Britton’s cursed accusation: It’s because Cameron was too short!

It may sound ridiculous considering Cameron’s height, but Ed Kemper himself is six feet tall. It is undeniable that Britton defeated the director and we have received one of the most accurate and alarming images of a serial killer in the history of television.

Cameron spoke about his casting experience in an interview with Entertainment Weekly in the role:

… I mean, take the hat off to [executive producer] David [Fincher] – he wanted to find an actor big enough to play this role, and it’s pretty hard. You need to find a person who fits the age and looks and who can do it, where and have to be at least 1.5 meters high. And I just made this six feet away…

5. Britton started talking to people outside the house, like Ed Kemper.

Playing a psychopath is not an easy task, especially if you want to capture the essence of a psychopath and not pretend to be one.

Cameron kept impersonating Ed Kemper. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the actor said he would stay in the game, even outside the set of Mind Hunter.

Then Britton said he was going to have conversations with ordinary people who had no idea he was playing a character. He measured their reaction to see if they were scared.

In her own words, Britton explained her extensive experimental research:

…I’ve also done my own experimental work. I didn’t want to impress him enough to capture his essence. I like to go out in my role. I like to go to dog parks and all that and start talking to people to see if their conversation is pleasant or disturbing. People really loved hanging out with Ed, which meant I was doing a good job. Because I think the scariest thing about serial killers is that they can stand next to you at a bus stop and you have no idea.

4. He met a serial killer, his rival, the spirit hunter.

To prove that there’s a thin line between real life and drumming and the characters depicted on screen – that’s exactly what Cameron Entertainment Weekly told Cameron that he and the actors Adam Zastrow and Jack Erdie met a serial killer in a Los Angeles bar.

Zastrou, played by Gina Dewier, and Erdie, played by Richard Speck, were in a bar in Los Angeles, where Britton went without warning. Together they painted the city red and even sang Psycho Killer in Karaoke Talking Heads!

Talk about murder!

3. Eight years working as a nursery teacher

The opposite of the crazy psychopath he plays on screen, Britton, in real life – it’s a shame.

This fact is no clearer than the work he did before he became a sensation on television.

Before he became famous, Britton worked as a kindergarten teacher for eight years. He has taught children with special needs from 18 months to 3 years old.

2. A hacker game played in a movie of 2018 girls on the web

After the explosion Britton got roles in many high-profile projects. One of them is the 2018 film in the action thriller genre Girl on a Web.

Britton played the Hacker Plug, a close ally of the protagonist Elizabeth Salander, played by Claire Foy.
