Valentine was hospitalized with COVID-19 on July 23, 2021, in critical condition and battling for his life. According to his radio station, after getting the illness, he regretted not being more passionately “pro-vaccine.” Valentine was put on a ventilator on July 28 in order to concentrate on his lungs. His family was said to be seeking therapy for him on an ECMO machine as of August 1, 2021. Valentine died on August 21, 2021, at the age of 61, from the illness.
